OPPO presents Find N foldable smartphone on December 15
Smartphone manufacturer OPPO will present its first foldable smartphone on December 15: the Find N. According to CEO Pete Lau, the device has been in development since 2018. The folding screen is on the inside and there is also a large screen on the outside.
In a blog post, OPPO shows a render of the closed phone. According to the Chinese manufacturer, six generations of prototypes preceded this model. A teaser video shows that the foldable phone has a large screen on the inside and a hinge system that is reminiscent of the Galaxy Fold devices from Samsung. A screen is also placed on the outside of the Find N, which, however, seems to be wider than the panel of the Fold smartphones.
The first reports about a foldable smartphone from OPPO date from 2018. Then the then product manager of the company announced that such a device was under development. At the beginning of this year, analyst Ross Young of analyst firm DSCC already stated that OPPO would release a foldable smartphone in 2021.
OPPO has not yet announced anything about the specifications of the Find N. It is not yet clear how large the screens are on the device and what hardware the company’s first foldable phone has. The details about the Find N will be announced on December 15 at the OPPO Innoday 2021 event.
