Oppo announces successor Find X in two weeks
The Chinese smartphone maker Oppo will present the successor to its Find X smartphone from 2018 in just over two weeks at its own event in Barcelona, ahead of the Mobile World Congress telecom fair.
Oppo has planned an event for Saturday afternoon, February 22, and has included the name of the new phone in the invitation: Find X2. It had been clear for some time that the Chinese manufacturer would present a successor to the Find X this year, but it was still unknown when it would be.
It will be one of the first phones with a Snapdragon 865. Find is the name of Oppo’s series of high-end phones focused on the use of new technologies. For example, the Find X was one of the first phones with a pop-up camera, a technique that came back in many smartphones last year.
There have been rumors about the Find X2 for a few months now. For example, the phone may have an OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Also, the phone may have a periscopic camera on the back for zooming, just like last year’s Oppo Reno 10X Zoom.
The Find X was the first Oppo phone in years to be released in the Benelux in September 2018. Last year, the Chinese manufacturer, which shares suppliers and R&D with brands such as OnePlus and Realme, among other things, released many more models in the Benelux.
