Oppo also releases its own Android skin for other Android smartphones
Oppo has announced that it will release its ColorOS, a custom skin for Android, for the LG G2. It is still a test phase, but it is possible that the manufacturer will subsequently release its Android software for other smartphones.
The arrival of ColorOS to the LG G2 was announced by Oppo on its forum, hoping to attract testers. Interested parties can register on the Oppo forum to test a beta version of the software. Although Oppo has not disclosed any further plans, it appears that it is looking to expand its Android software to smartphones from other manufacturers. However, it is still unclear whether and when ColorOS will be made suitable for other smartphones.
It is striking that Oppo brings its own Android software to the LG G2, because manufacturers usually keep their adjustments in Android to themselves. Most major manufacturers release Android smartphones with their own skin, although there are also some manufacturers that provide an unmodified version of the mobile operating system.
Oppo is best known for its Find smartphones. In addition to the manufacturer’s own skin, several devices are also suitable for Cyanogenmod, a popular custom rom. The company teamed up with the maker to release the first smartphone preinstalled with CyanogenMod: the Oppo N1.
