Opera for desktop gets sidebar with integration WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger
Opera will have a sidebar on the desktop with integration of the web versions of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, among others. There are many more changes in Opera 45, which the browser builder therefore refers to as Reborn.
The integration of WhatsApp Web and Facebook Messenger should allow users to chat and continue browsing at the same time. Until now, to continue chatting, users had to use chat apps in a separate app or leave them open as a tab. The sidebar also contains the user’s favorites, so that they are quickly available.
In addition to the sidebar, which is off by default, version 45 will allow users to encounter new icons and animations. There are also light and dark themes present and the browser adapts in appearance to the operating system. Opera has also removed some languages, including Afrikaans. The browser still works in 48 languages.
Although Opera mentions that it is a beta, users of the stable version can already update to version 45 and whoever downloads the browser from the software maker’s site will also get this new version on the desktop.
