Opera 50 for Android has feature to enable and disable ads
The latest version of Opera for Android offers a feature that enables and disables the baked-in ad blocker on a per-website basis. Opera 50 now also supports picture-in-picture to play full-screen videos in a smaller window.
Opera 50 for Android allows the user to configure the built-in ad blocker per website. The feature is useful, for example, for pages where advertisements are displayed, but also comes in handy on sites that can only be viewed when the adblocker is turned off. Opera 50’s new feature is hidden behind the green lock in the browser’s address bar.
Also new to Opera for Android is picture-in-picture for videos. When watching full-screen movies, the video can be played in a small floating window, so that the user can continue browsing in the meantime. This feature requires at least Android 8.0. Oreo also includes PiP functionality, but not every video content website supports it.
Other innovations in Opera 50 include an improved way to open PDF files and other documents, support for dark CSS themes, and a redesigned button to scroll through web pages.
