OpenAI announces official ChatGPT app for Android

OpenAI has announced the official ChatGPT app for Android. The app will be free and will be available to Android users next week. Interested parties can register in advance via the Google Play Store. This will automatically install the app.

The American research company announced the news via Twitter. Earlier this year, OpenAI also released a ChatGPT app for iOS. Both the iOS versionas the Android version of the app will be able to sync chat history across all devices a user is logged in to.

There are already several unofficial ChatGPT apps from third-party developers available in the app stores for iPhones and Android devices. Some offer similar functionalities, but there is also a warning for rogue apps.
