Open source photo editing program Darktable is available for Windows
Darktable 2.4.0 has been released and with that the free photo editing software is now also available for Windows. The open source alternative to Lightroom was previously only available for Linux and macOS.
In an announcement, the makers write that the Windows version is not yet complete. For example, the option to print is missing and special drivers have to be installed to use tethering. However, the Darktable team says it will support Windows from now on. The port has been expected for a long time.
Darktable is a program for editing raw files from cameras. It is seen by many as a free and open source alternative to Adobe’s Lightroom. The first version of Darktable appeared in 2009. Darktable 2.4.0 can be downloaded from GitHub.
