There is a Wacom digitizer layer on the screen. Because of this, it has up to 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and can distinguish between fingers and palms. The e-reader also comes with a stylus. This means that the Max3 can also be used as a digital notepad or drawing tablet.

The Max3 has an unknown Qualcomm CPU with eight cores running at 2GHz. Onyx has further equipped the e-reader with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. In addition, the device has a USB-C port with support for USB OTG, also known as USB on-the-go. This allows, for example, a keyboard or mouse to be connected to the e-reader.

The Max3 has a fingerprint scanner and a battery capacity of 4300mAh. The device also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology, with which the battery can be charged in two hours.

The Max3 is now available via Onyx for 860 dollars, converted and including VAT, that is 943 euros. Onyx also sells its e-readers directly through Amazon. Perhaps the Max3 will also be sold there in the future.
