Barracuda Networks’ online storage service Copy will end on May 1. That also means the end for the business-oriented CudaDrive. The reason for discontinuing the service is a ‘change of focus of services’.

Copy started as an online storage service over four years ago. The service would no longer fit within the portfolio, causing employees who now work for CudaDrive and Copy to be transferred to the ‘Barracuda Backup’ team. The new avenues that the company is looking for can be found in backup services, data protection and guaranteeing continuity in the ‘cloud’ for companies.

Companies or individuals who have a paid account with Copy or CudaDrive will receive an email in the coming days with more detailed information about the different options. Users with a monthly subscription will no longer be debited after February 1, 2016. The same applies to annual subscriptions, which will still be compensated for the excess money paid.

After May 1, 2016, all files from the online storage services will be deleted and nothing will be accessible. In the meantime, the systems should continue to function normally. Barracuda Networks advises users to choose another online storage service in good time.
