Well-known leaker OnLeaks publishes renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The new folding phone shows great similarities with the current Galaxy Z Flip3, but is slightly thicker, according to the leaker. It is unknown when the device will be released.

OnLeaks tells tech website 91mobiles that the Galaxy Z Flip4 will be almost identical to its predecessor. The phone would be a bit thicker, possibly because of the presence of a larger battery. When opened, the device is 7.2mm thick, while the current Z Flip3 is 6.9mm thick. The new flip phone would also be 165.1mm high and 71.9mm wide. That is slightly less high and wide than the previous device in the Z Flip series. The Galaxy Z Flip4 does keep the same screen diagonal of 6.7 “.

According to 91mobiles, the main differences are internal. The device will probably get a newer soc. It is not officially known which chip that should be, but there are rumors that the phone will receive an unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ soc. The current Galaxy Z Flip3 has a Snapdragon 888-soc, also in Europe.

Furthermore, the folding phone again has a back with two cameras with an LED flash and a small second screen on which the time, a music player, notifications and more can be shown. Renowned screen analyst Ross Young recently posted on Twitter that that second screen will be slightly larger than before. On the side is a fingerprint scanner and space for a SIM card. At the bottom there is also a USB-C connection and a speaker.

It is not yet known when the Galaxy Z Flip4 will be released. It is expected to take a few months before Samsung announces this device. Earlier this week, OnLeaks also showed renders of the Galaxy Z Fold4, which Samsung will probably announce together with the Z Flip4.
