OnLeaks has published renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro. According to the well-known leaker, the phone will have an updated design with flat sides and a new ‘camera bar’ at the back. The device should be released later this year.

OnLeaks publishes the renders in collaboration with MySmartPrice. The leaker states that the phone will receive a redesign. The device will have a new camera island on the back, which contains three sensors. Unlike the Pixel 6, 7 and 8 devices, this ‘camera strip’ no longer runs across the entire width of the back. The camera island therefore looks more like that of last year’s Pixel Fold.

According to MySmartPrice, the front of the device has a flat screen with a diagonal of approximately 6.5″ and a punch-hole for a selfie camera. This would make the screen smaller than that of the current Pixel 8 Pro, which has a 6.7″. ” panel. At the same time, the dimensions of the device are virtually unchanged, so this may be an error on MySmartPrice’s part. The Pixel 9 Pro would be 162.7mm high, 76.6mm wide and 8.5mm thick. This makes the upcoming device 0.1mm higher and wider, but 0.3mm thinner than its predecessor.

Furthermore, according to the renders, the phone will have flat sides, although they do bend slightly towards the screen and the back of the phone. The previous Pixel 8 Pro has ‘curved’ sides. The volume buttons and power button are still on the right side of the device, while the USB-C port, speakers and SIM card slot are on the bottom of the phone.

OnLeaks often publishes correct renders of unannounced smartphones. Last year he showed the first images of the Pixel 8 Pro in March, while that phone was only officially announced by Google in October. The Pixel 9 Pro should be released sometime in the second half of 2024, although the exact release date is not yet known.
