Well-known leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as OnLeaks, has published renders of the alleged Google Pixel 8 Pro. The images show that, among other things, a new sensor has been added.

According to the Pixel 8 Pro renders from OnLeaksthey are published by SmartPrix, the phone will again get a camera strip with three cameras on the back. The three lenses are all integrated into an oval-shaped module and a fourth sensor is located under the flash. What exactly this is for is not clear. It could be a macro or depth sensor, but also something completely different.

The screen has a size of 6.52″. Google seems to have largely traded the curved screen design of the predecessors for a flatter design, although there are still curved elements at the corners of the phone. The screen edges also look a much narrower than that of, for example, the Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel 8 Pro screen has a size of 162.6×76.5×8.7mm and the device has a thickness of 12mm including the camera island. The Pixel 7 Pro is fractionally larger; the screen of the predecessor measures 162.9×76.6×8.9mm. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to get the new Google Tensor G3 soc. More may be known about the new phone at Google’s developer conference I / O scheduled for May 10.
