OnePlus starts releasing Android 10 upgrade for OnePlus 6 and 6T

OnePlus will start releasing the Android 10 upgrade for the OnePlus 6 and 6T on Monday. The manufacturer initially started this on Saturday, but stopped after the discovery of a bug. Users will receive the upgrade in the coming days.

OnePlus reports on its forum that sending the over the air upgrade will resume on Monday. On Saturday, the manufacturer already started releasing Android 10 for the OnePlus 6 and 6T, but the manufacturer stopped doing so due to a bug that caused a problem with the fingerprint scanner. This has been resolved and the upgrade sending has resumed.

OxygenOS 10.0 includes new features, including a new interface, new gesture controls, and Contextual Display. The latter is an addition to the Ambient Display function, in which the display is adjusted based on the time and the location of the device. OnePlus reports that the Hide Notch option is missing for now. It is not clear whether and when the option to add a black bar at the top of the screen will return.

The upgrade to Android 10 is not available to all users at the same time. OnePlus sends the new software to users in different phases, in order to be able to intervene in case of problems. OnePlus provided its OnePlus 7 devices with Android 10 in September and the upgrade will also appear in the second quarter of next year for the OnePlus 5 series.
