OnePlus sister brand Vivo announces second foldable phone on Monday
Vivo, sister brand of OnePlus and OPPO, among others, will announce its second foldable phone on Monday. It is an announcement in China, although the brand wants to release its foldable models in other countries in the long term.
Vivo X Fold+ Teaser
It concerns the Vivo X Fold+, according to a post from Vivo. In other posts, the manufacturer says that there are several changes compared to the X Fold released earlier this year. For example, the device now has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead of the 8 Gen 1. The phone can also charge faster: wired with 80W and wireless with 50W. The X Fold+ will be a foldable phone in the style of the Galaxy Z Fold, with a screen that unfolds into a small tablet.
In addition, Vivo claims that 5000 apps are now compatible with the foldable phone, which is more than before. Presumably, that advantage also applies to the X Fold, which has been available in China for months. Vivo is one of the many brands that release their foldable smartphones only in China. OPPO, Huawei, Honor and Xiaomi, among others, did the same this year.
Vivo has previously stated that it also wants to release foldable phones in other countries, but when that will happen is unknown. For the time being, the Samsung foldables remain the only new foldable phones that are readily available in Europe.
