OnePlus shows remote control for TV with Assistant button
Manufacturer OnePlus has shown an image of the remote control for its upcoming TV. The render shows that the remote control has a USB-C port, while there are buttons on it with a print of a Google Assistant logo, a OnePlus logo and a button without printing.
In addition, a large surface can be seen above the buttons on the photo that CEO Pete Lau tweeted. That is presumably a touchpad. Volume buttons can be seen on the side. The remote is somewhat reminiscent of the Siri remote for the Apple TV set-top box.
OnePlus unveils its first TV this month. OnePlus TVs will run on a modified version of Android TV. The company wants to improve the integration of smartphones and TVs, but how it will do that is not yet clear. The TVs will have Qled panels, presumably 43″, 55″, 65″ and 75″.
A previous rumor has pointed out that OnePlus uses a MediaTek processor and a listing on Amazon shows that the TV will have at least eight speakers and support Dolby Atmos, with a total output of 50W.
The manufacturer often releases elements of unannounced products to generate attention. It is still unknown when OnePlus will present its TVs, but the manufacturer is reportedly holding an event in three weeks at which it also wants to show its OnePlus 7T phones. The company previously said it wants to release the TVs in September, with India being the first to turn. It will then be released in North America, Europe and China.
