OnePlus resumes the release of Android Oreo for the OnePlus 5

OnePlus has once again started releasing the Android Oreo update for the OnePlus 5 smartphone. Last week, the software update was withdrawn due to a bug, but a new version has since been released.

It concerns version 5.0.1 of the Oxygen OS software, the shell that OnePlus puts over the Android operating system. On its forum, the Chinese manufacturer announces the arrival of the software, which will be sent over-the-air to users of the OnePlus 5.

Version 5.0.1 is the successor of 5.0.0 that came out last month, and is mainly intended to bring Android Oreo to the smartphone. After a beta period, OnePlus released the final version of the Oreo update, but last week there appeared to be a problem in the software. Incidentally, the Chinese manufacturer did not elaborate on what exactly was going on. However, OnePlus already announced that it would resume the release of the software update soon.

The release notes of the 5.0.1 update state that a bug has been fixed regarding third-party camera applications. Also fixed an issue related to European telecom providers; using the software could cause network problems. This may also be the reason that OnePlus initially withdrew the software.
