OnePlus releases update for Android 11 upgrade issues on OnePlus 7 and 7T
OnePlus will soon release an update for Android 11 issues on the OnePlus 7 and 7T. Users complain that their phones are slower or have non-working keyboards since that update, among other things. The fix should be released this month.
The company acknowledges on the forum that there are problems with the Android upgrade for the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7T. Many users report on the forum that several problems occur after upgrading to OxygenOS 11.0.0.2, the Android 11 upgrade for the device.
The issues range from a general slowdown across the operating system to specific issues where, for example, double tapping to turn on the phone doesn’t work, apps stop working, or the keyboard stops working. Some users call the phone virtually unusable.
One of the most common problems seems to be battery drain. For some users, this goes to less than fifty percent in a few hours. OnePlus now officially acknowledges for the first time that there are problems with the update and says it will come up with a fix “this month”. It comes in the form of an over-the-air update. The company says that it mainly solves the battery drain, and ‘regulates system stability’, but the company does not want to respond more specifically.
