OnePlus is working on firmware update for ghost touch issues

OnePlus is working on a fix for the ‘ghost touch’ problems on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Some users complain about random touches on their screen that they don’t do themselves, but the phone maker says it will release a software update soon.

OnePlus 7 Pro users have been reporting “ghost touches” issues for the past week and a half. With some of them, it seems like the screen is suddenly touched. For example, apps are opened out of nowhere or the notification bar is pulled down. Users reported those issues on OnePlus’ forums and on social media such as Reddit. Users also reported that they cannot touch the corners of their screen.

The problem seems to occur mainly when users are using the CPU-Z app. The ghost touches seem to disappear when users disable NFC on their phones, at least until the next update is available. OnePlus has now confirmed for the first time that it is coming, reports The Verge.

“Our team is working hard to resolve the issues we’ve heard from a limited number of users,” the company said in a statement. “We will release a firmware update in the coming weeks that will fix the issue.”
