OnePlus is going to release its Android TV under the name ‘OnePlus TV’
OnePlus has announced that its TV will be marketed under the name OnePlus TV, after it launched a competition last year to come up with a name for the product. The TV is rumored to be released at the end of September.
In addition to the official name ‘OnePlus TV’, the Chinese company also showed the logo for the TV. The company announced last year that it was working on a smart TV under the project name OnePlus TV. The company called on readers to come up with a suitable product name with which the television could be marketed. Despite the You Name It competition, the company appears to be sticking to its original project name.
Details about the OnePlus TV, OnePlus did not disclose further. A registration on the Bluetooth SIG website last week revealed that it is a TV that will come on the market with screen diagonals of 43, 55, 65 and 75″. The devices will initially only be available in China and India, with the 75″- version is exclusive to the Chinese market and the 43″ variant will only be released in India. It was also found that the device contains Android TV as an OS.
OnePlus previously announced that the TV contains a visual smart assistant and is intended, among other things, to ‘connect the house’ and to easily set up connections with smartphones and other devices. According to MySmartPrice, the TV will be released on September 26 or at least between September 25 and 30. That site also claims that the TV contains LCD panels from TPV, but a source of the MySmartPrice claims that an OLED variant also appears.
