OnePlus ends collaboration with McLaren for smartphones

OnePlus will no longer release McLaren versions of smartphones in the future. The partnership with the carmaker has recently ended, McLaren confirmed. McLaren editions of the OnePlus 6T and 7T Pro were released.

It was already suspected that OnePlus and McLaren would not continue their partnership, as the smartphone maker was no longer listed as a partner on McLaren’s website. A spokesperson for the British car manufacturer informed the Android Authority that OnePlus is indeed no longer a partner.

Due to the termination of the partnership, there will be no more OnePlus smartphones with the McLaren brand name. The Chinese manufacturer has used that name in the past for high-end versions of its smartphones. This concerned the OnePlus 6T and 7T Pro. A prototype smartphone with leather in the colors of McLaren was also released, but it is unlikely that it will hit the market.
