OnePlus confirms to introduce first foldable smartphone later this year
OnePlus confirms to present its first foldable smartphone in the second half of this year. The company talks about a flagship phone. Earlier in February, the company hinted that it was working on a foldable.
President and COO of Kinder Liu says the foldable phone “must match the current top foldable devices on the market,” but provides little new information about the smartphone. In the coming months, the smartphone manufacturer wants to announce more about the foldable phone.
When announcing the OnePlus 11, the company already strongly hinted that it was working on a foldable, with a ‘surprise’ for the third quarter of this year. The company is rumored to be working on a mini-tablet-like foldable and flip phone, such as the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip devices from parent company OPPO. Leaker Digital Chat Station previously claimed on Weibo however, that OnePlus’ foldable mini tablet would get a 2k screen, which doesn’t match the specs of the Find N2. It may therefore not be an OPPO device with OnePlus brand name, but a separate device.
