OnePlus confirms the launch of OnePlus 10 Pro in January
The OnePlus 10 Pro will be introduced in January. That confirms CEO Pete Lau. The release is a few months earlier than usual. According to previous rumors, the phone will be released in China first and a worldwide release will follow later.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirms on Chinese social media platform Weibo that the company’s upcoming flagship will be announced in January. “OnePlus 10 Pro, see you in January,” writes Lau. Furthermore, the CEO does not share any details. There were previously rumors that the OnePlus 10 Pro would be introduced in January. OnePlus leaker Max Jambor published a slide last month with the alleged release dates for the smartphone. The slide already showed that the phone will be released in China in January or February.
It is striking that, according to that slide, the phone would only appear worldwide in March or April. OnePlus has not applied such a release strategy before, but sister company OPPO has been releasing its smartphones first in China for some time. The two companies have been working more closely together over the past year. Pete Lau has not confirmed in his Weibo message whether the phone will indeed be released worldwide at a later date.
OnLeaks previously published renders and details of the OnePlus 10 Pro. The smartphone would include a large camera island with three camera sensors. The device is also said to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery capacity may be 5000mAh, although that could change. Earlier there were rumors that the smartphone supports wired 125W fast charging. , although more recent reports say it will be 80W, and the phone is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip from Qualcomm, 12GB of Lpddr5 memory, and 128GB or 256GB of storage.
