OnePlus confirms that the company is coming with a new line of ‘affordable, high-quality smartphones’. They first come out in Europe and India and later in other parts of the world. OnePlus does not disclose details, but the company does hint at the name OnePlus Z.

CEO Pete Lau confirms the arrival of the new line on the OnePlus forum, without giving any substantive or technical details. The fact that he is talking about a series means that it is not a one-off release, but that OnePlus plans to release several ‘affordable’ models in the future.

OnePlus refers to an Instagram account called the OnePlus Lite Z Thing. More information about the device should appear there, but that is not the case yet. There have been rumors for months about a cheaper device from OnePlus. That has been referred to as the OnePlus 8 Lite, OnePlus Z and OnePlus Nord. Judging by the Instagram account, the name seems to be OnePlus Z.

According to rumors, OnePlus will present the device at the beginning of July. The device would have a 6.55 “OLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It is presumably a Snapdragon 765-soc, combined with 6GB ram and 128GB flash storage.
