OnePlus has confirmed that the upcoming Buds Pro in-ear headphones will have active noise cancellation. The company speaks of “adaptive noise cancellation” and says that the earphones have three microphones for the function.

With those three microphones, the earphones can monitor the external sounds so that counter noise can be produced, says the company against CNET. In addition, the earphones can produce 15 to 40dB of counter noise. Users can turn off the noise canceling by pulling down the stem of one of the earbuds, or via the HeyMelody app.

Including the charging case, the earphones have a maximum battery life of 38 hours, without active noise reduction. If users want to listen to music with the active noise cancelling, the earphones including charging case will last up to 28 hours.

For charging, the Buds Pro support Warp Charge with a maximum of 10W. After ten minutes of fast charging of the case, it offers a battery life of ten hours. Users do not have to use a specific cable or adapter for this, any USB-C cable will suffice, says OnePlus. Wireless Qi charging goes with a maximum of 2W.

Images are not yet shared, although CNET says it has seen the earphones. They would resemble Apple’s AirPods Pro earphones, with matte black and glossy metallic colors. The earphones had been in development at the company since July last year and therefore date from before the integration with OPPO. OnePlus will share more information about the earphones on July 22, along with the unveiling of the Nord 2.
