OnePlus brings 5g phone within a few months in United Kingdom
The Chinese smartphone developer OnePlus will release its first smartphone with 5g in the United Kingdom within a few months. The device works on British Telecom’s next 5g network.
OnePlus did not reveal details of the coming smartphone, but did show a prototype of the device in a video. The phone will be released in the first half of next year, said OnePlus CEO Pete Lau in a presentation at the Qualcomm Tech Summit, which takes place this week in Hawaii. It is not about the OnePlus 7, but a telephone in a new series.
The Chinese manufacturer said earlier that a 5g phone was arriving for the European market, but did not say when and where it would be for sale. It is obvious that the OnePlus phone will receive an X50 modem from Qualcomm, the first modem from the American chip designer with support for BT’s 5g network. The phone must be the first on the European market with 5g support, indicating that the release will take place quickly; among others Xiaomi releases a Mi Mix 3 with 5g on the European market within a few months. Samsung, LG, Huawei and Oppo will also be introducing 5G phones in the next six months.
