OnePlus announces Nord 3 5G with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC for 449 euros
OnePlus has announced the Nord 3 5G for a suggested retail price of 449 euros for the entry-level model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space. The version with 16GB memory and 256GB storage costs 549 euros in Europe. The smartphones will be available from July 12.
The OnePlus Nord 3 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC that has an Arm Cortex-X2 core with a 3.05GHz clock speed, three Cortex-A710 cores at 2.85GHz and four more energy-efficient Cortex-A510 cores with a 1.80GHz -clock frequency. The SoC also contains a Mali G710MC10 GPU from Arm. According to OnePlus, the CPU of the Nord 3 5G performs up to 40 percent better than that of its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G. In terms of GPU performance, the Chinese brand promises an improvement of up to 85 percent.
The device has a 6.74″ AMOLED screen with a dynamic refresh rate of between 40 and 120Hz. With 2772 x 1240 pixels, the device has a pixel density of 450 pixels per inch. The battery has a capacity of 5000mAh and, thanks to 80W, fast charging, the device should be able to be fully charged within half an hour. What is also striking is that the smartphone has a vapor chamber of roughly 41cm².
As for the main camera, the Nord 3 5G will have a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX890. The ultra-wide-angle camera and macro lens again have an 8- and 2-megapixel resolution, respectively. Dual-view video is once again possible, where video images are recorded simultaneously with the front and rear cameras. Speaking of the selfie camera, it has a resolution of 16 megapixels.
From the time of writing, customers have the option to pre-order the device, so the more expensive model with 16GB Lpddr5x memory and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage only costs fifty euros more than the standard model. The OnePlus Nord 3 5G is available in Misty Green and Tempest Gray. The brand promises at least three updates with a new Android operating system and four years of security updates.
