OnePlus announces 32″ to 55″ TVs that can display 93 percent of dci-p3
OnePlus has announced three new budget and mid-range televisions that can display up to 93 percent of the dci-p3 color space. The televisions are intended for the Indian market and cost converted from 155 euros.
OnePlus has created two new lines for the three televisions: the U1 series and the Y1 series. The OnePlus TV 55U1 is the mid-range model and has a 55-inch 4k panel. This screen can handle hdr10, hdr10+, hlg and Dolby Vision. The screen takes up 95 percent of the front and the television is 6.9 mm thick.
The 55U1 has two speakers and two tweeters that together produce 30W. According to OnePlus, these speakers are tilted by 90 percent compared to downward-facing speakers, which should reproduce fifty percent deeper bass sounds. This television also has Dolby Atmos.
OnePlus has announced two models in the Y1 series, in 32″ and 43″ format. The 43Y1 has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, the 32Y1 has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The Y1 televisions will have two speakers in a stereo setup, both of which produce 10W.
All OnePlus TVs announced today will run on Android TV and come with OnePlus apps. For example, there is the Oxygen Play app, which combines video services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video into one vod library. The TV will also have an album function and the OnePlus Connect app, to be able to connect a OnePlus smartphone or iPhone to the television. Then the phone can be used as a remote control, among other things.
The three televisions will go on sale in India from Sunday, July 5, via Amazon, and will be available ‘later’ through other stores. It is unknown if and when the TVs will be released in other countries. The OnePlus TV 55U1 has a suggested retail price of 595 euros, the 43Y1 costs 274 euros and the 32Y1 costs 155 euros.
