OnePlus and Waze fix GPS fix issues
Owners of OnePlus smartphones suddenly appear to have problems with the navigation software Waze. Several users have reported that they can no longer get a GPS fix while using the app, but a fix has been released.
The complaints appeared on several forums, including Waze itself. On the forums, users of several OnePlus smartphones indicate that the software no longer functions, with reports of spontaneous loss of the GPS connection. After that, many users do not succeed in getting a GPS connection again, so that navigation no longer works.
Waze previously acknowledged that there is a problem; the support page of Google, owner of Waze, mentions the issue with OnePlus smartphones. However, OnePlus and Waze have now found a solution to the problem, whereby OnePlus has released the necessary fix, without having to send a software update to users’ devices. Users are advised to reboot their phone to make Waze work again. Initial experiences show that this has indeed provided a solution for many owners.
Meanwhile, some owners of OnePlus phones had already found a solution to the problem. For example, it is possible to turn on the battery advanced optimization option, which should provide a GPS fix, although that does not work for everyone. Another user reports that installing an older version of Waze fixes the issues.
