OnePlus 3T with larger battery and 16-megapixel front camera costs 439 euros – update

OnePlus provides its new smartphone OnePlus 3T with a Snapdragon 821-soc and a 16-megapixel front camera. There will be a variant with 128GB storage space and the battery capacity is 3400mAh larger than with the OnePlus 3. The device will be available for sale from November 28.

Like its predecessor, the OnePlus 3T has a 5.5″ OLED screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. There were rumors that OnePlus would opt for a higher resolution or possibly even an LCD, but that turns out not to be the case.

Although the housing is the same size and weighs just as much, the OnePlus 3T has a battery capacity that is 400mAh higher. Like the OnePlus 3, the smartphone supports the manufacturer’s Dash Charge fast charging technology. The device will be available in two colors: a dark gray version with a black front and a gold-coloured model with a white front.

As OnePlus and Qualcomm previously announced, the OnePlus 3T will get the Snapdragon 821-soc. Two cores run at 2.35GHz and the other two cores run at 1.6GHz. As with the OnePlus 3, there is 6GB of lpddr4 memory. In addition to a version with 64GB of storage, there will be a 3T with 128GB of flash storage. In both cases it is ufs 2.0 flash memory.

OnePlus gives the 3T a new front camera, with a resolution of 16 megapixels. That is a doubling compared to the OnePlus 3. The manufacturer uses a Samsung 3P8SP sensor, with pixels of 1 µm. On the back, the camera is unchanged, it is an IMX 298 chip from Sony with pixels of 1.12 µm and an f/2.0 lens. OnePlus does say that the electronic image stabilization, which is used during filming, has been improved.

The device runs on Oxygen OS, which is based on Android 6.0. OnePlus previously promised an update to Android 7.0 Nougat for the OnePlus 3 before the end of the year; presumably it will also come to the new 3T.

The OnePlus 3T can be ordered from November 28 for a starting price of 439 euros. This is the model with 64GB of storage space. The variant with 128GB flash memory is only available in the gray version and costs 479 euros.
