OnePlus 2 will be available without invitation from December 5

OnePlus will put the OnePlus 2 on sale from December 5. From then on it is no longer necessary to have an invite to order the device. The 64GB version costs 399 euros, the 16GB model is sold for 339 euros.

The OnePlus 2 was introduced in July this year. The high-end smartphone was previously only for sale by invitation. Such invites were provided through social media, the OnePlus forum and traded on the Internet. Occasionally, OnePlus put the smartphone on sale for a short period of a few hours or days. It has now been announced that as of December 5, no invitation is required anymore and that this will remain so in the future.

The OnePlus 2 contains a Snapdragon 810-soc, 5.5 “screen with full-HD resolution and a fingerprint scanner. The device runs on OxygenOS, an Android variant with minor adjustments. The version with 16GB of storage has 3GB of ram, the 64GB variant has 4GB of ram.To get hold of the newer and cheaper OnePlus X, an invite is still needed, although that device can be ordered without an invitation between December 5 and 7.
