One Education comes with modular laptop-tablet combination
One Education, known for a number of olpc laptops, will soon come with a modular laptop that can also be used as a tablet. It should be easy with the new model to easily replace hardware yourself due to the modular design.
The images that The Digital Reader has at its disposal show that the new XO-infinity laptop is similar in design to the modular smartphone that Google is working on. Users can replace parts themselves, which are marked with different colors. For example, it seems to be possible to replace the battery, ram, processor and the camera. The screen would also be a separate module; it makes it possible, among other things, to use the device as a tablet.
The XO infinity is listed on One Education’s website, but no further information has been made available yet. A spokesperson for the company told The Digital Reader that more information will be announced about the laptop in a few weeks. As a result, it is still unclear what the exact options are with regard to replacing hardware.
One Education is an Australian company that is part of the olpc project with its XO laptops. These are cheap models that are intended to stimulate education in poorer countries.
