Olympus has announced two new lenses in its M.Zuiko Pro series. The 17mm and 45mm are an addition to the previously released 25mm. The lenses are suitable for micro-four-thirds cameras and have an aperture of f/1.2.

On micro-four-thirds cameras, which have a 2x crop factor, the 17mm and 45mm provide an angle of view comparable to 34mm and 90mm lenses on a full-frame camera. The wide angle consists of fifteen lens elements in eleven groups and weighs 390 grams. The portrait lens weighs 410 grams and is made up of fourteen elements in ten groups.

Both lenses feature a nine-blade diaphragm and housings that are sealed against dust and splash water. The lenses can also withstand freezing temperatures down to -10°C. The appearance of the 17mm, 25mm and 45mm is similar, as are the dimensions and threads for filters. It is 62mm for the entire series.

Olympus will release the 45 mm f/1.2 Pro lens in December for a suggested retail price of 1299 euros. In March next year, the 17 mm f/1.2 Pro will be on the market for a suggested retail price of 1399 euros. The 25 mm f/1.2 that Olympus presented last year together with the E-M1 Mark II camera costs 1299 euros at most providers.
