Oculus to develop new products with Samsung

The founder and CEO of Oculus expects the partnership with Samsung to remain long-term and close. He said the two companies would continue to work closely together to develop new products.

“We will work closely with Samsung to develop more products,” Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe said during the Startup Nations Summit in the Korean capital, Seoul, according to CNet. Both companies have already released the Gear VR, but those VR glasses are not the only product that comes from the collaboration.

In mid-October, according to Korean media, Samsung discussed a close collaboration with Oculus’ parent company Facebook. Those messages seem more likely now that Oculus itself indicates that it wants to maintain warm ties with the Korean electronics giant for a longer period of time. On the other hand, Samsung is an important supplier to Oculus: the company supplies the screens for the Oculus Rift glasses.
