Oculus Releases Touch Controllers and Roomscale Sensor December 6
Oculus announced at its Connect event that the Touch controllers for its Rift glasses will be available on December 6 for $199. In addition, the company will release an additional roomscale sensor and earphones on that day.
Presale for the Oculus Touch controllers starts October 10. The controllers come in a bundle along with two games, the sports game VR Sports Challenge and The Unspoken, a wizard-type fighting game. In addition, the bundle contains an additional camera. Oculus did not mention a euro price, but it will probably be 199 euros.
An additional sensor will be available separately on December 6 for $79. According to Oculus, this makes room-scale tracking possible for: determining your position in a room while you walk around. The HTC Vive also comes with sensors for this, which was seen as a distinguishing feature. The combination of Rift glasses, Touch controllers and additional sensor in the US comes to a total price of $ 880, The Verge calculates, which for the Vive is $ 800 in the US
Oculus also announced in-ear headphones for the Rift at its Connect event. These earbuds will also arrive in December for $49.
