NZXT Introduces New Kraken Water Coolers

NZXT showed its latest water coolers during Computex. The two coolers in the Kraken series are based on the latest generation of all-in-ones from Asetek. The new series is distinguished by a larger radiator and fan.

The X41 has been given an extra thick aluminum radiator, which has increased the cooling capacity compared to the thinner X40. To get enough air through the radiator, NZXT has included a newly developed fan: the FX140 V2. This 140mm fan runs at 800 to 2000rpm and works in conjunction with Asetek generation four and a half pumps.

The same pump and fan can be found in the X61, only this radiator has two fans and is 280mm wide. Asetek’s pumps are no longer limited to one pump speed, but can now operate at 2400 to 3600 rpm. The water coolers can be operated via NZXT’s new software, which allows to operate not only the water coolers, but also the new Grid+ fan controller. That controller has 30W of power and is connected via USB.
