NZXT announces proprietary capture cards for streaming in HD and 4k
Manufacturer NZXT announces two capture cards. It concerns the Signal 4K30 and the Signal HD60. As the product names suggest, the Signal 4K30 can record in 4k and 30 frames per second. For the Signal HD60, that is 1080p at 60 frames per second.
The Signal 4K30 and Signal HD60 have the same housing and connections. On the back of the capture cards are two HDMI ports and a USB-type-c port. The difference is mainly in the video quality and that is also noticeable in the price. The Signal 4K30 costs 180 euros where the Signal HD60 costs 140 euros.
For the additional cost of the Signal 4K30, you can record and stream images in 4k resolution. That is possible with 30 frames per second and HDR. You can also choose to record in 1440p. Then the number of frames per second can be a maximum of 144. If you lower the resolution to 1080p, then recordings of 240 frames per second are possible.
The Signal HD60 can record in 1080p at 60 frames per second by default. According to NZXT, the capture cards are compatible with OBS, Streamlabs and other mainstream streaming software. The manufacturer also releases a chat cable together with the capture cards, with which you can listen to the audio from your console on your headset and stream at the same time while streaming.
NZXT is mainly known for its cases and other PC components. Lately, the manufacturer has also focused more on its own peripherals. For example, NZXT released its own gaming keyboard and mouse earlier this year.
