Nvidia’s first video card based on the new Maxwell architecture will probably not be a high-end model. Also, all Maxwell GPUs are first baked at 28nm. Nvidia will switch to the 20nm process later in the year.

According to the Swedish website SweClockers, the Geforce GTX 750 Ti will be Nvidia’s first video card based on the Maxwell architecture. The midrange card, likely to be type named 107GM, is set to replace the Geforce GTX 650 Ti in February. The site also reports that the new video card will be produced at 28nm, semiconductor producer TSMC would not be ready for mass production of 20nm GPUs until later this year.

Maxwell is the successor to the current Kepler architecture. The most important new feature of Maxwell is unified virtual memory, which gives the CPU access to the video memory. SweClockers reports that the price of the Geforce GTX 750 Ti will be between 1300 and 1600 Swedish Krona, converted about 150 to 180 euros.
