‘Nvidia will start mass production of RTX 4070 and RTX 4060Ti next months’
Wccftech claims that Nvidia will begin production of the RTX 4060 TI and RTX 4070 in the coming months. Both GPUs are said to use custom AD104 chips. That chip can also be found in the RTX 4070 Ti.
The new variants of the AD104 chips are said to be less powerful compared to the standard version of the graphics chip used in the RTX 4070 Ti. Wccftech notes that there is an AD104-250 and an AD104-251. It is unclear which chip is intended for the RTX 4060 Ti, and which for the RTX 4070. Off previous rumors However, it should appear that the RTX 4070 would have an AD104-250 chip. For comparison, the graphics chip in the RTX 4070 Ti is an AD104-400.
Production of the GPU with the AD104-250 chip is expected to start in the first half of February, while production of the variant with the AD104-251 will start in March. It is not clear when Nvidia plans to introduce both graphics cards. Wccftech suspects this will be in the fall, or around Computex.
The tech website had suspected specifications of the RTX 4070 a few months ago published. It would contain 5,888 CUDA cores, 12GB of GDDR6X memory and 36MB of L2 cache memory. According to Wccftech, both GPUs will have a TDP of 200W, but according to Wccftech this may still change.
