Nvidia stops production GeForce RTX 3090 Ti due to BIOS and hardware problems
Nvidia may have asked board partners to stop manufacturing GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards. TweakTown reports this based on its own sources. Tech website VideoCardz endorses this, stating that it was done because of BIOS and hardware issues.
TweakTown writes that it has spoken with industry sources, who say Nvidia has asked board partners to stop production of their RTX 3090 Ti models without further explanation. VideoCardz then approached its own anonymous sources, who endorse TweakTown’s story.
The same sources claim that there are problems with both the bios and the hardware, but further details are not yet known. For example, it is unclear whether the board partners should review their RTX 3090 Ti models, or whether they should wait for another solution from Nvidia. The company itself has not yet responded to the possible production stop.
Nvidia confirmed the arrival of a GeForce RTX 3090 Ti at CES earlier this month, but didn’t share any concrete details at the time. The company announced that the video card will receive 24GB of faster Gddr6x memory at 21Gbit/s, while the processing power is 40Tflops according to the manufacturer. Nvidia indicated to share more details about the RTX 3090 Ti later this month. According to previous rumors, the video card would be released on January 27; it is not known whether the alleged production stop has any influence on this.
