Nvidia has been able to increase its sales and profits due to strong sales of its GeForce GPUs and Tegra processors for mobile devices and cars. Sales of high-end Geforce GTX cards in particular were on the rise.

Nvidia’s GPU branch, which accounts for more than 80 percent of revenue, saw its revenue increase by 14 percent compared to last year. In terms of Geforce GTX sales, sales even increased by 57 percent. According to Nvidia, the good sales of high-end cards and the new GTX 750 series with new Maxwell GPU are the main reasons for the increase in turnover.

Demand would be high in all markets. The market for notebook GPUs is shrinking, but a growing demand for high-end notebook GPUs should compensate for this. “This demonstrates continued demand for mobile technology for high-end performance gaming,” Nvidia said in a statement.

In addition, Nvidia announced that the Titan Z announced in March will be available in the current quarter of this year. According to Videocardz, the card should have been released in April, but the new release time of May 8 was not met after the postponement. It is unknown when Nvidia will now release the card with two GPUs.

Revenue from Tegra sales increased by 35 percent compared to last year. The growth comes from sales for smartphones, but also in the automotive field. Nvidia sees this as a growth market and the sales growth of 60 percent for the automotive branch seems to confirm this. Audi, among others, provides a number of models with Tegra chips and Nvidia wants to expand its position here with the Tegra K1 soc and the corresponding Jetson development board.

Nvidia’s total revenue for the quarter increased 16 percent year-on-year to $1.1 billion, while profits came in at $137 million, a 75 percent increase.
