Nvidia has lowered the suggested retail prices of its GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 Founders Editions in Europe. These are reductions of approximately 5 percent. The company probably does this because of the increase in the value of the euro against the dollar.

Nvidia has the prices of its RTX 40 Founders Edition recently updated on its websitenoticed German tech website HardwareLuxx op. The GeForce RTX 4080 is now for sale for 1399 euros, while the video card previously cost 1469 euros. The price of the GeForce RTX 4090 has fallen from 1949 to 1869 euros.

Nvidia has not officially announced the price reduction. This is probably a price correction, as the value of the euro has risen against the dollar recently. So this doesn’t seem to be a response to AMD’s recently announced Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX, which will be available next week for $899 and $999 respectively.

The new, reduced prices have already been implemented at other retailers that supply the Founders Editions, HardwareLuxx reports. However, the prices of the custom RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 video cards appear to be unchanged. For example, a modified RTX 4090 is listed in the Pricewatch for 2149 euros at the time of writing. Custom RTX 4080 cards are currently selling from 1469 euros.
