Nvidia will announce a cloud service for game developers during its GTC 2022 keynote. The tech company will offer its Omniverse platform via the cloud, so developers can use Nvidia’s tools on any computer.

Nvidia Omniverse is a platform aimed at developers and is used, among other things, to create 3D worlds in games. Until now, the platform could only run on a local system or its own cloud. Nvidia wants to offer the platform as a cloud service to game makers, so that it becomes easier for studios to collaborate.

During the keynote, Nvidia showed a demonstration of what a collaboration via the cloud can look like. Developers working on a system with an Nvidia RTX video card can simply run the software locally. When team members don’t have an RTX system, they can use a system in the cloud via GeForce Now. This service is also used to stream games from a remote gaming PC.

The cloud service is called Omniverse Cloud and is initially only available through an early access program. Omniverse users can subscribe Sign Up to get early access. According to Nvidia, Omniverse Cloud allows for real-time collaboration on games, even if some developers work from home, for example.
