‘Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 will cost $599’
The GeForce RTX 4070 will cost $599, VideoCardz reports. The recommended retail price of the RTX 4070 corresponds to that of the RTX 3070 Ti at launch. This makes the RTX 4070 a hundred dollars more expensive than its predecessor, the RTX 3070.
The rumor that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 will be priced at $599 comes from VideoCardz, which said it was confirmed through three different sources. Those sources were at an Nvidia press briefing. According to VideoCardz, the RTX 4070 will be introduced on April 13.
The RTX 4070 gets an AD104-250 GPU with 5888 CUDA cores, a boost clock of 2.48GHz and a TBP of 200W. The video card would also have 12GB of GDDR6X memory and 36MB of L2 cache memory, VideoCardz reports. It is not the first time that rumors have been spread about the RTX 4070. Tech website Wccftech published suspected specifications of the RTX 4070 a few months ago published. It is not yet clear how many Tflops of shading computing power the card offers.
The video card is based on the Lovelace architecture, just like the previously announced RTX 4090, 4080 and 4070 Ti. The video card therefore supports features such as DLSS Frame Generation and Shader Execution Reordering. The GPU is produced on TSMC’s 4N process, which is also used for Nvidia’s Hopper GPUs for data centers.
With a suggested retail price of $599, the RTX 4070 is a lot cheaper than the RTX 4070 Ti, which cost $799 when announced. However, the RTX 4070 is a hundred dollars more expensive than its predecessor, the RTX 3070. The $599 that the RTX 4070 would cost is converted into euros and including VAT, approximately 665 euros. That price may change before the introduction; Nvidia does that more often.
