Nvidia appears to announce GeForce GTX 980 Ti on June 2
Nvidia has hinted on its Taiwanese Facebook page that a new video card will be introduced on June 2 during the Computex fair. It is probably the GTX 980 Ti, which is more powerful than the 980, but less fast than the Titan X would be.
According to Wccftech, the Facebook page of Nvidia Taiwan temporarily announced the introduction on June 2, which could be followed live via Twitch. An unknown map was visible in the background of the announcement. It is most likely the GeForce GTX 980 Ti. This would take over the position of most powerful regular consumer card from the GTX 980, if the Titan X with its price of 1000 dollars is not counted as a normal consumer card.
According to previous rumors, the GTX 980 Ti will have 2816 cuda cores and a core clock speed of 1000MHz. The card is built around the GM200 GPU and just like the Titan X there is a 384bit wide bus. Unlike the Titan X, however, the 980 Ti is not combined with 12GB gdd5, but with 6GB gddr5.
