Nvidia has put the specifications of the GeForce GT 1030 on its website. GT 1030 cards from various manufacturers have already appeared before, but now Nvidia has officially confirmed the budget GPU with 384 cudacores.

The GPU of the GeForce GT 1030 is equipped with 384 cudacores and Nvidia gives a boost clock of 1468MHz. The video card is equipped with 2GB gddr5 memory that communicates via a 64-bit memory bus. This results in a memory bandwidth of 48GB/s.

The consumption of the GT 1030 is 30 watts; this makes the card economical enough to be cooled without fans. Several manufacturers have already announced models with passive cooling. The budget video card can be equipped with displayport 1.4, hdmi 2.0b and dvi-d connections.

The card has much less computing power than the GeForce GTX 1050 and is therefore less suitable for games. Older games or games that require little graphics power will run fine; the GT 1030 is about twice as fast as the integrated gpu of Intel processors. Furthermore, the GT 1030 can be useful in HTPCs for playing HEVC video content, connecting more than one high-resolution monitor and running simple 3D applications.

Several manufacturers have announced their models. EVGA shows three versions on its website, Zotac offers one version for the time being. Earlier, details of GT 1030 video cards from Gigabyte and MSI appeared.

Nvidia lists a suggested retail price of $69. Converted with VAT, that is about 75 euros. EVGA offers a fan version on its website for $80. That equates to 87 euros including VAT.
