Number of Zoom users rises by 100 million in three weeks
The number of users of video conferencing service Zoom has increased by 100 million to 300 million in the past three weeks. The director has announced this. Five months ago, Zoom had 10 million users.
In the past three weeks, the number of users has grown by 50 percent, Reuters writes. The service has therefore grown strongly in a period in which many security vulnerabilities came to light and in which some organizations and companies banned the use of Zoom.
Zoom had about 10 million users in December, before many people started working from home because of the corona pandemic. The number of users rose immediately after many people came to sit at home to 200 million three weeks ago.
Other video calling and video conferencing services have also gained a lot more users. Houseparty gained 50 million registered users. Services such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Cisco Webex also have more users than before.
