Nubia: next Red Magic gaming smartphone has 144Hz screen
Nubia’s next Red Magic gaming phone will have a 144Hz display. That has been announced by a CEO. It is still unknown what kind of screen it is, who makes the display and when the manufacturer will present the phone.
A Nubia CEO shows a screenshot of the upcoming smartphone on Weibo. It contains options to lock the screen at 60, 90, 120 and 144Hz. Also at the top of the image is a logo for 144Hz, next to the range of a 5G network. The screenshot shows that the screen has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The resolution will probably be 2340×1080 pixels.
Nubia is the second Chinese manufacturer to post a teaser for a 144Hz screen on Monday. A Redmi executive also posted a teaser on Monday for a 144Hz refresh rate for the Redmi K30. Another Chinese manufacturer, OnePlus, keeps it at 120Hz.
The teaser phone will have to follow up on the Red Magic 3 and 3S. Those gaming phones distinguished with 90Hz screen and fan. The Red Magic 3 appeared last spring. It is unknown when the successor is due.
