Notmycar is a battle royale game with vehicles and will be released on Steam on April 5th
Developer NMC Studios and publisher Skybound Games will release notmycar as a Steam Early Access title on April 5. The game follows the conventions of the battle royale “genre”, but instead of human characters, cars are used.
The makers say that notmycar for Windows will be free to play from April 5 and will remain so, even after the Early Access period is over. In the game, players are dropped in their cars on a large island via parachutes, where they fight until a single car remains as the winner. To take out other cars, an arsenal of weapons can be found on the island. It’s unclear whether smashing into other cars without the use of weapons will also have an effect. As with all battle royale games, notmycar’s battlefield is getting smaller and smaller.
Notmycar is scheduled to remain in Early Access for six months, according to its Steam page. The developer reports that it needs this time to improve certain features, refine driving and shooting, create items based on player feedback, and expand the maximum number of players per round from 50 to more than 75.
The full version will contain more vehicles, weapons and abilities. There will also be more game modes that go beyond battle royale. Probably with the full version rounds with a hundred players are also possible. The version that will be released on April 5 should be considered a beta version; the game works, but not all features have been implemented yet and there will still be bugs.
