Nothing releases Ear (2) earplugs with bluetooth multipoint for 149 euros
Nothing introduces its second pair of wireless earplugs, the Ear (2). The earplugs support bluetooth multipoint and get improved noise cancellation. The earplugs will appear on Wednesday 22 March and will again have a suggested retail price of 149 euros.
The Nothing Ear (2) earplugs are a successor to the Ear (1). The earplugs support this generation of Bluetooth multipoint and can therefore be connected to two devices at the same time. In addition, the earplugs will support personalized sound profiles. Users can do a sound test for this via the Nothing X app, which has also been updated.
Nothing claims that the active noise cancellation has been improved compared to the Ear (1). The earplugs offer three levels of noise reduction and can now attenuate sounds by up to 40dB. Ear (2) earplugs also receive Hi-Res Audio of up to 24bit at 192KHz. The earbuds are compatible with the LHDC 5.0 codec.
In terms of design, the earplugs have hardly changed compared to the first generation. However, the position of the microphones has changed, so that they must be less sensitive to wind noise. The IP certification for dust and water resistance has also been increased from IPX4 to IP54 for the earplugs. The accompanying charging case of the Ear (2) has an IP55 certification.
With the charging case, the Ear (2) earplugs achieve a battery life of up to 36 hours when active noise cancellation is switched off, according to Nothing. The manufacturer also claims that the earplugs last up to eight hours after a ten-minute charge. The charging case can be charged wired via USB-C or wirelessly with the Qi standard.
The Nothing Ear (2) will be available on March 22 via the Nothing website. The earplugs then receive a suggested retail price of 149 euros, just like the previous Ear (1) earplugs. Availability at other stores will follow later this month.
