Norman Reedus Confirms Death Stranding Sequel Is In Development
Death Stranding protagonist Norman Reedus explicitly confirms that a sequel is in development. As of yet, Kojima Productions has not announced a sequel to the 2019 game, and Reedus’ statement is the first reliable confirmation of a sequel.
Reedus says to the question of LEO online magazine whether there will be a Death Stranding sequel: “We’ve just started a second part.” Fans, on the other hand, should not expect a sequel in the short term, as the development takes a very long time, according to the American actor: “It took about two or three years to complete all the motion capture. [voor het eerste deel] to do. That takes a lot of work. And then the game came out, it won all kinds of awards and it became a huge thing, so we’re just getting started on part two.”
Since the success of Death Stranding, there has been speculation about a sequel. Reedus said in 2021 that a sequel was being negotiated, but there was no explicit confirmation. It is unknown if Reedus’ character Sam Porter Bridges will star again.
